Statement from Chief Black Jack,

Miracles happen to the simplest of people, the
humblest of man, in small wonders. The Creator
blesses who he wishes, but we have to hear the
call. The Creator gives us signs and wonders.
To those who hear and recognize, these are the
good who will be rewarded. To those who ignore,
these are those who will be thrashed.
We must realize we have two choices to make. We
can hear the message of the Creator or choose to
ignore it. We all dance in the same circle. But we
dance to different drums. Miracles do happen, to
inspire faith and love. Without faith we are lost.
We were given the sacred c’anunpa to smoke with
our prayers. In this way, we see the unseen in the
smoke as it travels to the Creator. The Creator does
not need the smoke as the Creator sees the unseen
without the smoke. Only we as humans need the
smoke to see the unseen.
What do we do with the gifts given? It is our choice
to do the work given us by the Creator or choose not
to. The white buffalo is the sacred child of the
Creator. He is the one who shows the colors of man.
The buffalo begins in the south, white, the place of
our ancestors, returning to the people, ancestral
knowledge. Then it becomes red, the color and warmth
of the sun in the west. To the north, becoming black,
growing in knowledge and wisdom and it ends in the
east, in th beginning.
Great gifts have been given to man throughout time
and have been ignored. Many continue to ignore
the gifts given and this is a sad thing. Everyone’s
lives should be as the Sundance. You are your
brother’s keeper. If your brother is a fool, do not
give him much. If your brother is wise, depend upon
him deeply. There is a season and a time for all things.
Spirit has chosen this time, during the turmoil when
the Colonial hoop has been broken, to send this
message. We need to come together as one Nation,
one People. Not broken into many Nations. We will
not survive this way. Only together will we be strong.
Under Colonial rule, the First Nations have become
wiser. This knowledge and understanding must be
shared.
I believe when lightning comes with flame and wind,
we forget the whisper. These that have come, these
buffalo, are the whisper. We must prepare for the
times ahead. These things that are happening, they
are small signs of the times. If the people do not
pay attention, they will miss the signs. They will
not hear the whisper.
